For home lighting, we have a wide variety of lamps to choose from, and we have entered the lamp market and have been dazzled by all kinds of lamps. So, is there a type of lamp that is indispensable for home lighting? You may say chandeliers and ceiling lamps. But the protagonist I want to discuss today is wall lamps.
Home lighting is generally divided into main lighting and auxiliary lighting. The so-called main lights refer to global lighting such as chandeliers, ceiling lamps, and light strips. Auxiliary lights refer to local lighting such as table lamps, wall lamps, floor lamps, tubes, and spotlights, and even decorative lighting.
Advantages of wall lamps
1. Generally speaking, since wall lamps are local lighting and have low power, they are more energy-efficient. At the same time, it is DC driven, with low power consumption (single tube 0.03-0.06 watts) and electro-optical power conversion close to 100%. The same lighting effect saves more than 80% energy than traditional light sources.
2. Wall lamps mostly use solid cold light sources, epoxy resin encapsulation, and the shortcomings of filament light burning, heat deposition, and light decay are not very obvious. Therefore, its service life can reach 60,000 to 100,000 hours, which is much longer than the life of traditional light sources.
3. The installation height of wall lamps is usually low, and cleaning and maintenance are relatively convenient. And it has a good decorative effect.
Disadvantages of wall lamps
1. Relatively speaking, the acquisition cost of unit illumination is relatively high.
2. The heat generation is relatively large and the brightness is relatively uneven. Especially for the wall lamps at the head of the bed, which are close to the human body, the heat generated is easy to be transmitted to the human body.
How to choose a good wall lamp
1. First look at the lampshade. Usually, the lampshade of the wall lamp will be mostly made of glass, fabric and PVC. You can test the light to see the light transmittance of the lampshade and whether the shape and pattern of the lamp are coordinated with the home decoration style.
2. Look at the lamp bracket. The bracket of the wall lamp is mostly made of metal, which requires us to examine whether its corrosion resistance is good, and whether the color and paint are beautiful and full.
3. Since wall lamps are more decorative, soft light is preferred, and the wattage should be controlled within 30 watts to reduce the damage to the wall caused by the heat generated. In addition, different types of wall lamps should be selected according to the needs of installation. Finally, it should be noted that it is best to choose a wall lamp with a protective cover on the bulb to prevent ignition of wallpaper and cause danger.
4. The illumination should not be too high, which is more artistic. The lampshade should be determined according to the wall color. For white or cream-yellow walls, light green and light blue lampshades are suitable. For lake green and sky blue walls, milky white, light yellow, and tea-colored lampshades are suitable. In this way, a conspicuous wall lamp is embellished on a large area of the same base color wall cloth, giving people a sense of elegance and freshness.
What is the appropriate installation height of the wall lamp?
1. Bedside wall lamp: We recommend that the height of the bedside wall lamp should be 1.5m-1.7m from the ground and between 95-400mm from the wall. Try to be convenient. In special cases, make appropriate adjustments.
2. General wall lamps: For example, wall lamps in living rooms, corridors, and dining rooms, we recommend that they be 80cm away from the work surface (such as a desktop), 2.2m-2.6m from the ground, and 10-40cm away from the wall.
