How bright should outdoor wall lights be?

House exterior wall lights and landscape lighting is a great way to spruce up your home. However, when customers are in the process of purchasing, there is always the question of how many lumens of outdoor lights should be installed, should they choose brighter ones or dimmer ones? Some customers will prefer to go for bright outdoor lights, when night comes and the lights are switched on, the view in front of them is as clear as day and appreciate the added curb appeal of these homes due to the bright lights. But some customers will prefer dimmer lights, which are flooded with some haze and appear more dreamy and soft.

Regarding brightness and style, how many lumens do I need for landscape lighting? As in all aspects of landscape and outdoor lighting, the obvious answer is that it depends. Normally, you are looking to create the desired effect with as few lumens as possible. What type of effect you want to create will determine the number of lumens you need. Path lighting: 100-200 lumens, Step lights 12-100 lumens, Flood lights 700-1300 lumens, Motion sensor lights 300-700 lumens, Pond/pool lights 200-400 lumens, Hardscape lights (on walls) 50-185, Garden wall with lights: 50-300 lumens (50 lumens for garden or small shrubbery)

You will notice that all of these examples are given as ranges and there is no definitive one value. For how many lumens are needed for a specific application, there is no single, objective measure (there is no way to give a definitive answer to this). That's the reason why it's essential to cooperate with an experienced lighting designer. They can help you get the light you need, not the light you don't need, to help make your home more picturesque and appealing to the eye if you want garden lights for wall.
