How To Choose The Right Strip Light

Type Selection‌: Choose different types of light strips according to the usage scenario. For example, silicone light strips have good waterproof performance and are suitable for outdoor and humid environments; while embedded light strips can be installed inside objects such as walls and ceilings to achieve hidden installation and lighting effects.

‌Brightness And Color Effect‌: The brightness and color effect of the light strip are important factors to consider when purchasing. Brightness is usually measured in lumens (lm), and the appropriate brightness is selected according to actual needs. The color effect needs to consider whether it needs to be adjusted and changed. If you want the light strip to present a variety of colors and brightness effects, it would be more appropriate to choose a multi-color or RGB light strip.

Wattage And Color Temperature‌: The wattage of the light strip is usually between 4W and 20W, and 8W to 14W is a more suitable choice. In terms of color temperature, 3000K to 4000K is more suitable, and the specific choice should be determined according to the space requirements. Warm white light 3000K is suitable for bedrooms, living rooms and other areas, neutral light 4000K is suitable for study rooms, and cold white light 6000K is suitable for kitchens, bathrooms and other places.

‌CRI And Voltage Drop‌: CRI is the color rendering index, which is the color reproduction index of the object. It is recommended that the CRI should be higher than 90Ra, preferably above 95Ra. The voltage drop problem, especially for long-distance light strips, needs special attention. The light strip will have a voltage drop at 5 meters, 10 meters and 20 meters. When purchasing, you need to understand the distance without voltage drop.

Cutting Distance‌: Light strips are usually purchased by roll or meter, and there will be loss during installation. Pay special attention to the cutting distance when cutting, which is generally 2.5 cm or 5 cm per cut. For places with high dimensional accuracy requirements, such as light strips inside wardrobes, it is recommended to choose light strips where each lamp bead can be cut at will.

Installation Method‌: Common installation methods include embedded installation and adhesive installation. Embedded installation needs to be pre-buried before decoration, while adhesive installation is pasted on the cabinet body with glue on the back, which is simple to operate and invisible and beautiful.
