What are the common types of light sources?

1. Incandescent lamp

The biggest disadvantage of incandescent lamps is that their life is short, the use time is generally between 3000 and 4000 hours, and some poor quality incandescent lamps can only be used for 1500 hours. Incandescent lamps are often used in restaurants, bedrooms and other Spaces in the home, and the color looks more comfortable.

Advantages: small light source, with a wide variety of lampshade forms; It has great versatility, many color varieties, and various forms such as orientation, scattering and diffusing. Can be used to enhance the three-dimensional sense of the object, incandescent light is closest to the sunlight color.

Disadvantages: not environmentally friendly, the use of incandescent lamps when 95% of the electricity is spent on heating, only 5% of the electricity is really converted into visible light; High heating temperature, fast thermal evaporation, short life (1000 hours), high infrared component, susceptible to vibration, low color temperature, with yellow.

Applicable scope: home dining room, bedroom

2.Metal halogen lamp (halogen tungsten lamp)

Metal halogen lamp is actually a kind of incandescent lamp, the life is generally between 3000 and 4000 hours, not more than 6000 hours. This lamp can be used for key lighting, such as in order to highlight the decorative paintings on the wall, indoor ornaments, etc., can be illuminated with cold light lamp cups, and the white light of the lamp can be changed according to different home decoration styles, consistent with fashion.

Advantages: simple, low cost, brightness is easy to adjust and control, good color rendering.

Disadvantages: short service life, low luminous efficiency, filament is prone to fuse at high temperature for a long time, and the failure rate is high.

3. Fluorescent lamps

Advantages: Energy saving, about 60% of the electricity consumed by fluorescent lamps can be converted to ultraviolet light, and the other energy is converted to heat. Generally, the efficiency of converting ultraviolet light to visible light is about 40%. Therefore, the efficiency of the fluorescent lamp is about 60%×40%=24% - about twice that of the same power tungsten lamp.

Disadvantages: will produce light decay, fluorescent lamp color rendering is not as good as incandescent lamp; There is a flicker of light, which has a certain effect on vision; In addition, mercury contamination occurs during production and after use.

4. Energy-saving lamps

CFLS are popular because they save energy, and a 9-watt CFLS is equivalent to a 40-watt incandescent lamp. The life of energy-saving lamps is also relatively long, generally 8,000 to 10,000 hours. After the normal use of energy-saving lamps for a period of time, the lamp will become dark, mainly because of the loss of phosphor, technically known as light decay. Some higher quality energy-saving lamps have invented constant bright technology, which can keep the lamp in the best working condition for a long time, and the light decay is less than 10% after 2000 hours of use.

Advantages: high light efficiency, is more than 5 times the ordinary incandescent lamp, energy saving effect is obvious; Long life, about 8 times that of ordinary bulbs; And small size, easy to use.

Disadvantages: will produce light decay; Low color rendering, incandescent lamp and halogen lamp color rendering is 100, perfect performance; The color rendering of energy-saving lamps is mostly between 80 and 90, and the light source with low color rendering is not only not beautiful to see things, but also harmful to health and vision.

The most important types of light sources have been clearly introduced. Each type has its advantages or disadvantages, we can compare it, if you think which is suitable for your home, you will know how to choose the lamp later.
