What to do if the LED wall washer lamp head fails?

LED lamps are energy-saving, high in brightness, long in life, and low in failure rate. They have become a kind of luminous body that ordinary household users like. However, a low failure rate does not mean no failure. What should we do when the LED street lamp head fails? Replace the lamp? Too extravagant! In fact, the cost of repairing LED lamps is very low, and the technical difficulty is not high. Ordinary people can operate it.

Lamp bead damage

After the LED lamp is turned on, some of the lamp beads are not bright, which basically means that the lamp beads are damaged. The damaged lamp beads can generally be seen with the naked eye-there is a black spot on the surface of the lamp bead, proving that it has been burned. Sometimes the lamp beads are connected in series and then in parallel, so if a certain lamp bead is damaged, it will cause a piece of lamp beads to be off. We provide two repair solutions based on the number of damaged lamp beads.

1. A small amount of damage

If only one or two lamp beads are broken, we can repair them in these two ways:

1. Find the broken lamp bead and connect the metal at both ends of it with a wire to short-circuit it. The effect of this is that most of the lamp beads can light up normally, and only the broken individual lamp beads will not light up, which has little impact on the overall brightness.

2. If you are good at hands-on work, you can go online to buy the same model of lamp beads (a large bag costs ten yuan) and replace them yourself - use a soldering iron (a hair dryer can also be blown for a while) to heat the old lamp beads until the glue on the back of the old lamp beads melts, and then use tweezers to remove the old lamp beads (don't use your hands, it's too hot). At the same time, install the new lamp beads while they are hot (pay attention to the positive and negative poles), and you're done!

Large-scale damage

If the lamp beads are damaged in large quantities, it is recommended to replace the entire lamp bead board. Lamp bead boards are also available online. Pay attention to three points when purchasing:

1. Measure the size of your own lamp;

2. Look at the appearance of the lamp bead board and the starter connector (explained later);

3. Remember the output power range of the starter (explained later).

These three points of the new lamp bead board must be the same as the old lamp bead board - replacing the lamp bead board is very simple. The old lamp bead board is fixed to the lamp holder with screws, so you can just remove it. New lamp bead boards are fixed with magnets. When replacing, remove the new lamp bead board and connect it to the connector of the starter.

Starter damage

Most LED lamp failures are caused by the starter - if the light is completely off, or the lamp flickers after turning on, etc., the overall failure of the lamp is most likely caused by the starter.

The starter cannot be repaired and can only be replaced with a new one. Fortunately, the new starter is not expensive. Pay attention to three points when buying a new starter:

1. Pay attention to the appearance of the connector - the appearance of the starter connector is as follows (if the starter is a male head, the lamp bead board is a female head; vice versa)

2. Remember whether your lamp can change color and how many colors it can change. The number of color changes of the new starter must be the same as the old starter.

3. Remember the output power range of the starter - a range will be marked on the starter, as long as the power of the lamp bead board is within this range

Replacement is still very simple. First separate the starter and the lamp bead board. The starter is also fixed to the base with screws, so just remove it. The new starter is also a magnet, just suck it and connect it to the lamp bead board.
