Photovoltaic lighting can be said to be an upgraded version of solar lighting in terms of functional characteristics. This type of lamp provides energy for itself by converting solar energy into electrical energy. Its core device is a solar panel, which can convert light energy in sunlight into electrical energy, store it in a battery, and then provide lighting through an LED light source with a light control device.

 

Compared with solar lighting fixtures that need to achieve secondary conversion of energy, photovoltaic lighting fixtures only require one-time conversion of energy. For this reason, they are equipped with less equipment, low manufacturing costs, and consequently low prices, which also makes them widely used in applications. There are even more advantages in popularization. What is particularly noteworthy is that due to the reduction of energy conversion links, photovoltaic lighting fixtures have better light efficiency than solar lighting fixtures.

 

With such technical advantages, according to analysis data from authoritative organizations, as of the first half of 2021, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic lighting products in my country has reached 27 million kilowatts. It is estimated that by 2025, the scale of my country's photovoltaic lighting market is expected to exceed 6.985 billion yuan, thereby achieving accelerated breakthrough development in this industry. It is worth noting that under such a market growth scale, my country has also become the world's largest producer of photovoltaic lighting fixtures, accounting for more than 60% of the global market share.

 

Despite its outstanding advantages and promising market prospects, the application shortcomings of photovoltaic lighting are also obvious. Among them, weather and light are both major influencing factors. Environments such as rainy weather and night not only fail to generate enough electrical energy and supply sufficient lighting energy for lighting sources, but also affect the output efficiency of photovoltaic panels, resulting in low stability of the entire photovoltaic power generation system, thereby shortening the use of lamps and light sources life.

 

To this end, photovoltaic lighting fixtures need to be equipped with more power conversion equipment to fill the dark environment use shortcomings of photovoltaic equipment on the lamp body and meet the application needs of the growing market scale.
