If you stay in hotels often on business trips, or stay in hotels more often when traveling, it is not difficult to find that the current hotel rooms basically adopt a design without main lights, and it is difficult to see the combination of main lights + auxiliary lights. Instead, downlights, spotlights, light strips, table lamps, wall lamps, bedside chandeliers, which were previously used as auxiliary lighting.
The lighting design of hotel rooms is mainly warm-toned.For the selection of these lamps, we should probably consider the three aspects of illumination, color temperature, and color rendering.
First, illumination
Hotel rooms generally pursue a quiet, warm, and even lazy feeling, so we recommend that the overall illumination be controlled at 50-100Lux;
However, for lamps with stronger functional requirements such as bedside lamps, desk lamps, and makeup mirror lamps, it is recommended to use an illumination value of 300Lux to meet the corresponding needs of guests; among them, the most easily overlooked is the desk in the guest room, and even many hotels do not provide writing desk lamps, which is a very inappropriate practice. The illumination of hotel room lighting should not be too high.
Second, color temperature
In terms of color temperature, it is closer to that of home bedrooms. The ideal color temperature of hotel rooms should be controlled in the range of 2700-3500K. The bedroom part uses light sources below 3500K, while the bathroom uses light sources above 3500K.
Warm yellow light is used in the bedroom rest area, and cool colors are used in the bathroom. The former pursues a sense of warmth, while the latter pursues a sense of cleanliness.
Third, color rendering
The higher the hotel, the higher the color rendering of the lamps. Even for mid-range hotels, the color rendering of lamps must reach Ra>90. Because a higher color rendering index can make people feel more comfortable and more confident.
Hotel lighting design, color rendering index should be high.
We often say that the home environment should focus on function and use, and commercial places should focus on art and consumption stimulation. Therefore, the lighting design of hotel rooms is different from that of home bedrooms. It pays attention to sufficient comfort and richness of mood to a large extent, because it requires customer satisfaction and good reputation.
Of course, hotel room lighting design cannot be done by considering only these three parameters. For more reference factors and lighting professional terms mentioned in the article, you can browse other articles of the author. We will explain them in previous and future articles.
