On April 22, 2024, the CSA standard T/CSA 082 "General Technical Requirements for LED Lamps for Local Lighting in Cabinets" was officially released, which was organized and formulated by the Zhongguancun Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Research and Industry Alliance (CSA) Standardization Committee (CSAS) and drafted by Guangdong Qingzhou Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd.
China's smart home has entered the IoT empowerment period and is comprehensively innovating the product form of smart home. In order to adapt to the upgraded needs of market consumption, various types of whole-house customized products continue to emerge. In addition to conventional household appliances, cabinet lighting (such as wardrobes, bed cabinets, etc.) in the customized furniture segment is also developing rapidly. Local lighting products in various types of furniture are widely used, with a wide variety of categories and uneven quality. There is a big gap with similar foreign products, especially in terms of safety performance. The domestic segmentation standards for such products are still blank. The release of this standard is conducive to the standardized development of the LED lamp market for local lighting in cabinets.
The standard specifies the general requirements for LED lamps for local lighting in furniture and display cabinets (hereinafter referred to as LED lamps) using DC power supplies below 250 V and AC power supplies below 1000 V and 50 Hz or 60 Hz, including classification, technical requirements, test methods, marking, instruction manuals, packaging, transportation, storage and recycling. It does not apply to LED lamps for cabinets with sterilization and disinfection functions. The standard document applies to the production, manufacturing and inspection of LED lamps.
